The National Portrait Gallery's Outwin Booch­ever Portrait Competition is a portrait competition for American artists that was endowed by Virginia Outwin Boochever, a long-time docent at the gallery.

The competition, which has taken place every three or four years since 2006, awards First, Sec­ond and Third Prizes and a few commendations. There's also a People's Choice Award, which was first awarded in 2013.
