Canadian painter, illustrator, he has worked extensively in Detroit specifically and the United States in general. Matthew has been commissioned by the Los Angeles Times, the Atlantic Monthly, Oxford University Press and many others.
Born in Windsor, he graduated from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit in the 20th Century. Oddly enough, prior to 2022, he had never exhibited in Detroit. No relation to Bruce Giffin.
