Named after Virgil H. Carr, the Carr Center is a hub for both the visual arts and the performing arts. The two exhibition spaces in the old space on Grand River were the Ford Gallery and the Masco Gallery. The center was usually open on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. I don't yet know what the hours will be for the new location.
Current exhibition
- BLACK: A Built Language Across Culture and Knowledge, Desawna Buford Quadre Curry, Daniel Geanes, Giovanni Gulley, Trae Isaac, Torrence Jayy, Tiera Knaff, William Matthews, Brian Nickson Skylar Turner. Opened January 19 and slated to run to February 29. There will be a reception on January 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
